
PVC-O pipe manufacturing line is a specialized manufacturing system used to produce PVC pipes with enhanced mechanical properties. The key feature of this PVC-O pipe production line is the “biaxial stretching” or “molecular orientation” process.

The process typically begins with the extrusion of a PVC-U (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) pipe, which serves as a preform. This preform is then heated to a specific temperature and stretched in both the axial (lengthwise) and circumferential (hoop) directions. This stretching rearranges the long-chain PVC molecules from a disordered state to an ordered, layered structure.
This molecular reorientation fundamentally improves the pipe’s characteristics, making it stronger, tougher, and more resistant to impact, crack propagation, and stress. As a result, PVC-O pipes can achieve the same pressure rating with a thinner, lighter wall, which reduces material consumption and makes them easier to transport and install.
